Liverpool have opened new contract talks with England defender Trent Alexander-Arnold, talkSPORT understands.
The defender’s current deal at Anfield, which he signed in July 2021, expires in the summer of 2025.

Trent, who missed the weekend’s win at Wolves due to a hamstring injury, has racked up 277 appearances for Liverpool since rising from the club’s academy in 2016.
He was part of the Reds sides that won the Champions League in 2019 and the Premier League in 2020.
He’s also won the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup with the club.
The defender has scored 16 goals and provided a whopping 73 assists during that time, too.
Alexander-Arnold came 22nd in the 2022 Ballon d’Or, as Liverpool narrowly missed out on a historic quadruple as they finished second in the Premier League behind Man City.
The 24-year-old has also earned 20 caps for England whilst at the club, scoring twice for his country in that time.
Alexander-Arnold and the Reds have had a strong start to the 2023/24 campaign, sitting in third, two points off league leaders Man City.
Liverpool will be hoping the defender will return for the Europa League clash against LASK this week following his injury sustained in the 3-0 win over Aston Villa.

Speaking about Alexander-Arnold in his press conference on Friday, manager Jurgen Klopp said: “[There is] no concern. He is not available, we knew that before.
“He didn’t train with the team once yet and will take a little bit. It is not the worst hamstring injury you can have but it’s a hamstring injury and they barely heal in two weeks – and this one didn’t, either.
“As he is running already, we hope he can start ball work early next week and then we will see and go from there.”
