Ecovacs launches Deebot X2 Omni robotic cleaner with solid-state LiDAR and AI navigation

Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
Ecovacs has just released their latest flagship robotic vacuum cleaner in Singapore. The Deebot X2 Omni features a new D-shaped design similar to the Samsung JetBot 90 AI+ and Dyson 360 Vis Nav. This design is said to allow the X2 Omni to clean corners more effectively – up to 99.77% edge coverage and is 19% more efficient over its predecessor, the X1 Omni, according to the company.
Besides the new squarish design, the Deebot X2 Omni actually improves on the X1 Omni in every conceivable way. For example, the X2 Omni now boasts a massive 8000Pa suction power and larger 6400 mAh battery (up from 5000Pa and 5200 mAh on the X1 Omni). The X2 Omni also features upgraded TrueMapping 3.0, AIVI 3D 2.0 which improves navigation and object detection and avoidance; YIKO 2.0 AI voice assistant can now handle multiple voice commands and offline natural speech processing.
What’s brand new to the X2 Omni is a solid-state LiDAR module, which the company claims to be similar to those used in automobiles and is the first of its kind for a home robotic vacuum cleaner. Because of this LiDAR module, the X2 Omni is slimmer and more compact than ever with a height of just 9.5 cm in height and 32 cm in width. The X2 Omni’s mop can be lifted up by 15 mm to have better clearance for even thick carpets and the robot itself can traverse obstacles as high as 22 mm, one of the highest in the industry.
The Omni Station dock does the standard stuff like auto-emptying dirt and refilling water, but it does do one new thing compared to the X1 as well. The X2 Omni Station will clean the robot’s mop with 55-degree heated water instead of just regular room temperature water for a cleaner and longer lasting mop attachment.
The Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni is available now for a suggested retail price of S$1,699 at Courts as well as Ecovacs official stores on Shopee and Lazada.
